The Mount Tamborine Skywalk

The Gold Coast Hinterland is a haven of natural adventures, boasting a landscape of lush forests and sprawling hinterland right up until the ocean. Mount Tamborine is one of the more popular attractions in the region, promising visitors the chance to experience stunning views and explore rainforest life in this part of the country.

The Mount Tamborine Skywalk is a brand new eco-adventure that gives you the chance to discover the area in a unique and thrilling way, while getting up close and personal with the rainforest canopies. Set amongst thirty acres of privately-owned rainforest next to the pristine pools of Cedar Creek, it really is the perfect introduction to what’s on offer.

The walk itself starts from the Eco Gallery, where you can learn all about the unique and varied array of rainforest flora and fauna that lives beneath the ancient canopies, and takes about 45 minutes if you’re walking at a leisurely pace.

All in all, the stroll is 1.5 kilometres, and combines a collection of floor trails and 300-metre high-tech steel bridges that take you to the upper parts of the forest to see things from a different perspective.

Other Things to Experience at Mount Tamborine Skywalk

As well as the skywalk, which takes you up into the treetops and down below the canopies to earth level, there are plenty of other things to do while you’re at the Mount Tamborine Skywalk.

In the rainforest Eco Gallery, you can discover the different species of plants and animals that live in the forest and learn more about the fascinating natural history and heritage of the region.

Elsewhere, at the Birdwing Café, you can tuck into a delicious selection of light bites, cakes, and coffees. And, for travellers looking to pick up a souvenir or two, there is a gift shop on site where you can browse handcrafted goods and buy something to remind you of your time on Mount Tamborine.

The Skywalk is the perfect way to introduce yourself to the Mount Tamborine region and the rest of the Gold Coast’s hinterland. As well as discovering the eclectic selection of ancient trees, plants, and wildlife that resides here, you can discover the stunning scenery from unique perspectives. It’s perfect for all kinds of travellers, with plenty of on-site activities to keep you busy when you’re not traversing the skywalk itself: pop into the café, pick up a souvenir, and wander around the exhibits at the Eco Gallery.
