The Gold Coast is a marvellous city located just south of Queensland’s capital, Brisbane.

The gorgeous town is famous for its expansive skyline, immaculate beaches and theme parks, as well as a laid back vibe that makes it the perfect place to relax and have a little fun!

Like traveling to any Aussie holiday destination, your budget depends on what kind of accommodation you will be staying in, what activities you will partake in and what kind of food you will be eating!

You can travel on a backpacker’s budget, managing to get away with spending under AUD$100 a day, given you limit your beverage indulgence (alcohol is expensive in Oz, we know!).

For mid-range to luxury travel, expect to spend anywhere from AUD$250 – $500 a day, including everything from high-end accommodation, experiences, food and more.

So, now that we’ve got your budget out of the way, what are some of the awesome experiences that await you on the glamorous Gold Coast?

Beach days (of course!)

The Gold Coast was built around its gorgeous beaches, some of which are the most famous in Australia. From Palm Beach to Currumbin, Burleigh Heads or Coolangatta, there is no shortage of options for lazing out on sandy shores and taking dips in cool blue waters.

There are also plenty of fun-filled activities you can enjoy at the Gold Coast’s beaches, including everything from surfing to jet skiing, beach volleyball and, naturally, a little sunbathing!

Head out to the theme parks

The Gold Coast’s theme parks are a staple of Aussie childhood travel, making it the perfect family fun day! Whether you’re climbing about thrill-seeking, film-themed rides at Warner Bros or taking on some of Australia’s most electrifying rides at Dreamworld, the Gold Coast’s theme parks are a must-see for families and adrenaline junkies alike!

Marvel at the Natural Bridge

The Natural Bridge is a pristine piece of nature located just outside of the Gold Coast in the Springbrook National Park. This beautiful rock formation was formed by the sheer force of cascading waters over the cave that sits below. At night, you can see the cave’s protected glow worm species doing what they do best – lighting up the night sky – it’s a truly beautiful sight to behold!

The Gold Coast has a wealth of awesome adventures to enjoy, regardless of whether it’s lazing on the beach, enjoying Australia’s top theme parks or getting out into lush nature…
